Obituary for Jenneh M. Kallon

Jenneh M. Kallon age 64 passed away April 27, 2017 at Flushing Hospital. She was born on Novemvber 13, 1952 in Koindu Town, in the Kissi Teng Chiefdom in Kailahun District, in the Republic of Sierra Leone; on the west coast of Africa. She attended the Roman Catholic Primary School in the same town, and later passed the Selective Entrance Exams for the Harford Secondary for Girls’ in Moyamba, also in Sierra Leone.

She migrated to the United States and married to the late Mr. Tamba John Kendema; and they were blessed with Joanne, tina, Sahr, and Ann-Marie. After aquiring an LPN License, Jenneh attended Hunter College in new York City where she successfully graduated with Bachelors and Masters in Nursing.

Jenneh truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She always helped members of her family with their immediate needs; and also by helping many of her loved ones migrate to the United States when there was was in Sierra Leone. She was also a community leader, and was once crowned president of ‘TEGLUMA’, and organization of descendants from Sierra Leone, living in the United States of America.

Jenneh had an intuitive ability to reach out to people in a deep positive way. She is survived by her mom – Mrs. Finda Nyon Foryoh – Kallon, her children, brothers and sisters, and numerous cousins and nieces; and grandghildren, abroad, and in Africa.

The family would like to thank everyone who came here today, to reminisce, grieve, and to support them during their bereavement.
