It was a grand time, the Sagrestano's, the Torrello's, the Di Prima's and the Di Marco's, (my family) all lived within walking distance of each other.  No telephones, no TV, no cell phones, no computers and, some of us had no cars either, but in our minds and hearts, we had it all!

Our social life revolved  around getting together at Sunday dinners, holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and impromtu visits, just take a walk and ring the doorbell, someone is likely to be home!   

My memories of Mariet and John are warm and wonderful and Jim and I looked up to them. Our lives were similar, childhood sweethearts,  married and started families young, worked hard and "dun good!  It was more than love and Mariet exemplified all that is good and kind.   

On a warm summer night, Mary&Joe Di Marco would feel like taking a walk and I can still hear my mother saying, we'll be back in a little while, we'll be at the Saggies!

Rest in Peace Mariet.  God Bless and Comfort you John, Loretta, Debra, Mathilda, Joan, Lee and your families. She will always be with you.  Hold on to the Memories.
