Casket Showroom
"When I heard that a University marketing professor had developed a more comfortable setting in which families could make a casket selection, I wanted to know more," says Thomas Kearns as he considers the recent improvements at his firm's Rego Park and East Meadow facilities. "We have long been aware that many individuals find the purchase of a casket to be an intimidating and uncomfortable experience. I wanted to refine our casket selection rooms to make this important purchase a more comfortable experience for people."

The refinement Mr. Kearns wanted is now clearly in evidence at the Leo F. Kearns Funeral Homes in Rego Park, NY, and East Meadow, NY. The funeral homes' new "Principal Selection Rooms," designed by York Merchandising Systems, offer families more inviting settings for casket selection -- arranged in a simpler, less confusing manner. The two rooms were the first such merchandise selection rooms in New York City and neighboring Long Island.
Rather than rooms filled with imposing, full-size caskets, these modern selection rooms are comprised of quarter sections of actual caskets. These sections are arranged for easy price and quality comparison, in well-lit, comfortable settings. And, as evidenced by the positive comments heard by Mr. Kearns and his staff, the goal of the showroom designer has been realized. "This kind of presentation turns an often difficult experience into a more positive one for families, Kearns said. "People are simply more comfortable with our new selection rooms."
Mr. Kearns invites people to visit the new selection rooms in Rego Park, NY, and East Meadow, NY and to ask any questions they may have.
