Bracelets and Rings

My aunt Catherine will always be in my heart. Not only was she my aunt who bought me, a three year old, A WHITE SEQUIN TUTU! (wow) but she was also my kindergarden teacher briefly at Morningside.... she taught me how to trace the letters O, M, R.  Zia Rina was a real hero. She taught and gave from her heart. Although facing many challenges, she took everything in stride and was a REAL LADY.

Oh, I forgot the title of my story... Zia Rina had these great bracelets, they were three golden ones and they would jingle and jangle on her wrist. As a little girl and adult, I loved to see her hair up in a chignon with an incredible flower,  her pretty clothes,  rings and accesories. As I grew up, she always was supportive and although we did not see each other often .... her smile and natural laughter , "that Catherine goodness"  and cheer warmed my heart. You never left my aunt without a smile and happiness and maybe the delicious wedding soup she would make for us during the holidays.

I willl always love you Zia Rina. I celebrate and cherish the love and lessons you gave to all of us.

Your niece,

Julie
