George Edward Knott,  Jr. 77, died Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in his home in East Meadow after a long, brave battle with his illness. 

He was predeceased by his wife Helen of 41 years. 

He is survived by his four daughters, Adina (Thomas) Johnson, Barbara Santo, Corinna Reyes, and Dorine (Joseph) Incammicia, and his son, George III. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Thomas and Victoria Johnson; Robert, Amanda, and Michael Santo; Angel Reyes Jr.; Julia and Emily Incammicia. Great great grandchildren Emma & Vincent Johnson. 

Born and raised in Manhattan, he moved to East Meadow to start and raise his family, where he lived until the end of his life. 

A man of the bargain, George was forever scanning garage sales for the ever elusive ‘deal’. He is known for his habit of dropping in on friends with gifts of knick-knacks and tchotch-kes. His warm spirit and generous nature will be sorely missed.
